As these are small sample products the libraries are limited to a small number of different types of articulations.ĪAS Strum Guitar 2 is synth modelled and will do most guitar styles. Obviously Scarbee Funk is designed for funky licks. Was actually pondering over the NI companion product: Scarbee Funk Guitarist Ha, now I'm pointing at myself by nit-picking over $49.50 if it has the potential to improve my abilities :) I get fairly good doing things by rote and maybe the NI product can set examples I can copy. In new OTS EV Acoustic & Electric Libraries my Strumming sounds like crud. Like many 'non-guitarist' musicians, have a feel for the term _strumming_ but no sense of technicalities/subtleties involved. Heck, I just bought it! :) Looking forward to using it. Then again, I'm pretty thick-headed, so maybe I missed the point.Īre you thinking it is being treated harshly? I'm personally not in THAT camp, at least I don't think so. :) I'm not sensing any particular hostility toward the product. I looked back through this thread and don't really see a theme of freebie-seeking or undue criticism being levied on Strummed Acoustic, just a fairly straight forward discussion of its features and merits, with a few sub topics thrown in. what a piece of shite!!!_ it doesn't play a performance level guitar for you _ for $50. No problem if anyone detests products of any kind, but 'gimmee a brake'. Great respect for incredible 'freebie' offerings these days, but had enough of increasing freebie seekers. Criticize if you want, but not much respect 'here' for those crapping on a US$49.50 product with its level of talented developers and content. Stressed a bit when Products like NI Strummed Acoustic get critiqued like this. It is understandable that at times proper skilled musicians feel insulted or threatened by this artifice. I make do with some MIDI keyboards, breath controller, ribbons, expression pedal and a PC loaded with plugins.Įlectronic & electric instruments have been winding up real musicians since their inception. We were actually singing from the same hymn sheet. My pals in the band (Singer, Sax player, Bassist, Drummer, Guitarist) are very happy with the sounds. So I use emulations for live playing with a master keyboard and a Breath controller, enabled by VSTs, Reaper and some propriety JSFXes. I have not the practicing time to learn to play a Concert Flute or the Double Bass. I have not the room and the money to use a Pipe Organ, nor the room that it would need to create the desired sound, and I can't carry one around I think I don't really need as real Fender Rhodes I have not the truck and the money to use a Hammond Organ I have not the room, the truck, and the money to use a Grand Piano If you have the time, the playing skills, appropriate recording environment and the equipment then of course the real thing is better than an emulation.
